KillaJoule Electric Motorcycle, 213 MPH at Bonneville

Join me for a “Monkey’s eye view” on the KillaJoule electric sidecar streamliner motorcycle doing 213.190 MPH in the flying mile at Bonneville Salt Flats. Driver and builder is Eva Håkansson.

Most of the noise you can hear is from the chain (you never hear the chain in an internal combustion vehicle, the engine is way too noise).

You can see the sidecar suspension working to the right in the picture, it is really neat. The sidecar suspension, as well as the front and rear suspension, is designed by Eva’s dad Sven Håkansson.

It was 10 MPH gusty cross winds, and you can see the bike move from side to side on the track.

Due to the somewhat complicated rules for setting official records (an AMA record is an average of two runs, both made the same day and in a specific order), the official record ended up being 191.488 MPH, but we will be back next year!
