Working with Curtis Elliott we built and donate an electric recumbent bike for two young twin ladies who live in Yzerfontein, Western Cape South Africa. They have Friedreich’s ataxia , a rare genetic disease that causes difficulty walking, a loss of sensation in the arms and legs, and impaired speech. It’s also known as spinocerebellar degeneration. The disease causes damage to parts of your brain and spinal cord and can also affect your heart. “Ataxia” means lack of order. Now these two lovely ladies are able to enjoy riding along miles of beach that spans from Yzerfontein beach to the west coast national park and Langebaan.
