eBike Test Bench: Range, Hill Climb, Brakes, 0-15

Today, in our inaugural episode, we run the Dost Drop through our the procedures. The first test was hill climbing performance. I tested the bike under the same hill under each level of pedal assist, the hill itself is 100 foot climb with a 2.745% grade over .69 miles.

In level 1 pedal assist I kept an average speed of 11.33 mph and an average human input of 92 watts.

In level 2 pedal assist, the average speed was 14.61 mph and human input averaged 69 watts.

Level 3 averaged 15.91 mph and 34 watts of input.

Level 4 at 16.31 mph and 22 watts

And finally full blast at level 5 pedal assist was 16.99mph on average, and 7 average watts of human input.

The next test was acceleration. Leaving the bike in its highest mechanical gear, (in this case 46 teeth on the front, and 11 in the back), I ran the bike at full throttle until the display read 15mph. Over 195 feet, and 13.91 seconds the bike performed quite well.

With two batteries in tow the entire time, the Drop scored 46.92 miles of range on this test.
