Ep. 17 - Liberation, Independence, and Education with Sam Boardman | The Changing Gears Podcast

Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Sam Boardman (he/him/his) discovered cycling in college when he moved across the country to attend UCLA. There, after joining the school’s club team, he became obsessed with riding his bike, spending his free time during the week escaping from campus to explore the nearby canyons of Malibu and Hollywood. Since then, Sam has joined the trade team of L39ION of Los Angeles. Alongside his competitive efforts, he helps to organize cycling events in Montana, as well as Junior Day Camps, a program that aims to help offer aspiring riders opportunities for mentorship in the sport.
In this episode, Sam and DZ talk about his experience in Belgium at “the farm,” his win in the Joe Martin TT, Sam’s recovery routine, and how he would like to incorporate his educational background into cycling overall.
