Ride Happy Academy: One Minute Post Ride Cleanup Routine

When the weather outside is frightful, this quick post-ride routine will keep your e-bike looking good, running like a champ, and help you two get to know each other better. Brendon’s here to walk you through exactly how to do it.

1. Wipe Down – Use a clean rag to give your e-bike frame a wipe down from stem to stern to clean off the wet, grit, and grime. This is a great opportunity to get up close and personal with your bike so keep an eye out for anything that looks out of place!

2. Chain Lube – The key step of regular e-bike maintenance is keeping your chain clean and lubed for a drivetrain that runs smoothly for many miles to come. Depending on your motor, you may need to lift your rear wheel off the ground and rotate it backwards to apply the lube in sections. Repeat the process with a rag to remove excess lube.

Pro Tip: Want to skip this whole "chain maintenance" business? Consider an e-bike with a Gates carbon belt drive. No chain, no lube, just sweet (virtually) maintenance-free riding.
Professional Annual E-Bike Maintenance Service

3. Professional Annual Service – Schedule an annual service appointment with your e-bike shop so a pro can give your ride a deep clean, tune-up, and software update to keep it in tip top shape for the long term. "How am I going to remember that?" Easy! If you purchased your bike from us, we’ve programmed your Bosch courtesy maintenance light as a friendly reminder make a service appointment after 600 miles. You’ll also have $100 OEB Bucks to spend on your future service needs!
