Ride1UP Roadster V2 Electric Bike Review – 2023

In this review of the Ride1UP Roadster V2, we dive into why we think this bike is perfect for anyone in an urban environment that needs a great-looking e-bike to cover a relatively short distance fast.

With a 350W rear hub motor and 252Wh battery, it’s not the most powerful commuter e-bike nor does it boast an extraordinary range. But what it does have in spades is eye-catching style and great handling that begs to go fast. This bike delivers power smoothly and favors riders who aren’t afraid of putting a little effort into pedaling. It also features a belt drive — a rare sight at this entry-level price point — plus caliper rim brakes, a performance-oriented geometry and the welds are smoothed to the point you can hardly tell they’re there.

Overall, this budget urban and city commuter outperformed our staff’s expectations. It climbed well, stopped quickly and handled in a way that made us want to brake late into corners and dart between cars.

Ride1UP is a direct-to-consumer company so you can buy the Roadster from their website at the link above, as well as a whole host of cool add ons. The bike is available in three colors — red, silver and black (we liked our silver paint job a lot) — and you can choose from large (58cm) or small (52cm) frame sizes, depending on your height.
