You may have heard the story about my daughter and I going out fishing where at age 13 she said “Hey daddy, I saw a one-wheel motorcycle in an Anime video, could you actually build that?
I built a few prototypes, gracefully left my 20-year marriage, raised $2.5 million in funding, and ran a startup as CEO for five years.
After a mountain of setbacks, we shipped twenty reliable bikes all over the world right as the Hoverboard mini-Segway sold $4.6 billion in sales.
We ran into a patent issue which forced us to sell only in China where our partner failed to deliver.
Even as the Asian knockoffs were coming out at half the price, the market never materialized large enough to support a new company.
Sadly, we closed the office in late 2016.
Disillusioned to doing another Silicon Valley startup, with all its capitalistic bravado, I instead, took a year off to write my book.
In it is the tale of RYNO Motors as a backdrop to my own hero’s journey as an awakening man in the middle of lessons learned dating some amazing women.
Today, by book editor Dave Jarecki and I have created RYNOMAN the TV Series to be hopefully shooting the pilot by end of 2020.
