This is in response to an email asking if it’s better to repair or scrap an Australian salvage title Tesla. The reason they asked me is that I’ve done the repair thing and it was tough-check my other videos to see what I mean.
In summary: If you do it well, by the manufacturer’s procedures to their standards, you document it, have a supervising engineer and it’s financially viable absolutely do it.
Don’t expect Tesla to give you an inch and absolutely don’t get a Tesla certification.
Don’t let Tesla take features including CHadeMO off you-the only way they can is by hacking you. Which, in case you’re reading this Tesla is illegal last time I checked.
Keep the car off the scrapyard and have fun making full use of the embodied energy in it 🙂
