Cover version of the song Skokiaan, written by Zimbabwean musician August Musarurwa, originally recorded in 1947. Mine is just one of many recorded cover versions of the song, one of which was recorded by Louis Armstrong in 1954.
My arrangement, albeit on different instrumentation, is based on the arrangement recorded by Pasadena Roof Orchestra in 1973.
The term Skokiaan relates to a type of illicitly brewed alcoholic beverage – a kind of moonshine.
Hardware: Korg microKEY 2, Alesis Crimson 2 electric drums
Recorded in Cubase, triggering multiple VST instrument plug-ins.
