Having and being able to use a bike is the ultimate freedom. Tim Johnson found that he was competing all over the world, bringing his expensive bikes along for the ride, but was struck by the inequity of biking right here at home. So he decided to help make a change.

Tim (he/him/his) is a former professional American cyclocross and road racing cyclist who competed from 1999 to 2015. He is widely considered one of the most accomplished American cyclocross racers of all time and has represented the United States in multiple World Championships and World Cup events.

In this episode, Tim and David talk about Tim’s time on the Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com team, his favorite memories while racing, how he rediscovered his love of cycling through his time racing on Jittery Joe’s team, and how he is working to improve bike infrastructure around the United States.
