We caught up with Brent at Oshkosh EAA Airventure to hear how he uses a Brompton as a pilot. Brent builds his own aircraft and camps in the mountains of Idaho. He and his wife Amy had been looking for ways to combine their love of biking with their love of flying and it seemed impossible – until he discovered Brompton. Because his camping equipment fits in the baggage compartment and the bikes can be strapped right to the wings, it’s possible to fly into remote mountain airstrips and bike in the back country! But you don’t have to be that wild to fit a Brompton in your plane – they fit into many of the smallest trainers and general aviation favorites including Cessna 172s and Piper Warriors! We loved hearing about his adventures and going up for a flight over the worlds largest aviation festival. Still, we loved the adventure of flying over the worlds largest aviation festival with two Bromptons strapped right to the wing struts!
For those of us who aren’t pilots, Brompton is still the ultimate bike for air travel because it folds small enough to fit in the overhead bin of many US Domestic and International flights!
