I 3D printed an adapter ring to mount 40V Ryobi brushless DC blade motors to a 1970’s ElecTrak mower deck.

I had an old 2-blade mower deck which I wanted to add a pair of brushless motors to. The motors are salvaged from Hart and Ryobi 40V push mowers. The deck is originally from an Elec-Trak – a series of ELECTRIC Lawn and Garden Tractors built by General Electric in the 1970’s.
The 3D-printed adapter allows me to mount the brushless motors in the old deck.

The first motor was salvaged out of that Hart push mower, so it had the blade with it. The second motor was an old one I’ve had around for some time and used it in other projects, so no blade with it. I ordered a replacement 18" blade: https://amzn.to/4jFJ39T
and the arbor/fan/nut mounting hardware for it: https://amzn.to/43FY1YM
The Elec-Traks were very neat and have a cool history. I converted a vintage sales film to video and posted it here: https://youtu.be/z5kP4g57Ycw?si=YjYSg_UsaKU5kVWo&t=7
Here’s a whole playlist of videos I’ve made related to Elec-Traks: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLmHss3DBZUikpeiyXrRyCkaPU3ub3et6N
The plan for this deck is for it to go into my RC Lawn Mower.
That mower has been great so far, but for the size and weight of it, I’d like a wider cut. If I mount this deck in it, the cut will go from 20" to 36".
