Brakeless bicycles will no longer be allowed on Singapore's public paths, roads in the future.

Mobot was interviewed by Channel News Asia regarding the topic of mandatory brakes for all bicycles on Singapore’s public paths and roads.

"Authorities are putting the brakes on bicycles that don’t have any. At least one handbrake will soon be a must for all bikes on public paths and roads, after the Ministry of Transport accepted a proposal from the Active Mobility Advisory Panel. Some bike dealers said they expect sales to gather speed, from customers who own bikes that need the safety upgrade. The Transport Ministry said more details about implementation will be announced in due course."

Originally aired on Channel News Asia and Channel 5.
