Follow along as we walk you through every step clearly and precisely.
In this video, we cover the entire installation process, from unboxing to final testing. No special tools are required, but we do recommend taking your time to ensure perfect alignment and safety.
๐ง INSTALLATION STEPS (Time Stamps Below):
Adjust the Damper to the Center Position โ Before mounting anything, rotate the damper adjustment dial until the resistance feels evenly centered. This ensures balanced steering response from the start.
Lock the Damper Positioning โ Once centered, secure the damperโs position using the locking ring or set screw (depending on your model). This prevents any accidental shifting during installation.
Install the Damper Base Mount โ Attach the damper base bracket to the scooterโs steering column or deck area (as shown). Align it to the center position and tighten all mounting bolts securely. Double-check that it sits flush and straight.
Attach the Damper Bracket (Hanger) to the Scooter โ Mount the connecting bracket (the โdamper hangerโ) onto the designated spot on the Glidezone GD83 frame. Use the provided screws and tighten them firmly, but do not fully torque until the next step.
Install the Damper in a Parallel Position โ Connect the damper body to both the base mount and the hanger bracket. Adjust the angle so that the damper sits perfectly parallel to the scooterโs steering axis when the handlebars are straight. This is critical for smooth, linear damping action.
Adjust the Damping Force & Test Steering โ Rotate the damping adjuster to your preferred firmness (start with the middle setting). Then, turn the handlebars left and right through their full range of motion. The movement should feel smooth, with consistent resistance. Make fine adjustments until it feels right for your riding style. Test ride slowly at first to ensure everything is secure and responsive.
