The Hikeep MAD electric dirt bike is a seriously unique electric ride with a 5,000W hub motor, dual removable 60V batteries, 19-inch wheels, hydraulic brakes, plush adjustable suspension, and a claimed top speed of 50 MPH. But what does it actually do in the real world?
In this full review, I test this electric dirt bike on the street and off-road to find out its real-world top speed, range, acceleration, suspension performance, braking, battery capacity, and off-road capability.
The bike reached 50 MPH on GPS and delivered approximately 47 miles of range during an aggressive high-speed range test. I also took it to an ATV park to see how it handles dirt, mud, hills, sand, and rough terrain.
Highlights:
• 50 MPH GPS-confirmed top speed
• 47-mile real-world range during high-speed riding
• 5,000W rear direct-drive hub motor
• Dual removable 60V battery packs
• 19-inch wheels with 3-inch knobby tires
• Hydraulic Logan brakes with 203mm rotors
• Adjustable front and rear suspension
• Full-twist motorcycle-style throttle
• Pedal assist and three riding modes
• Front and rear turn signals
• Triple-stack LED headlight
• NFC display unlock
• Approximately 140 lbs with both batteries installed
Overall, the Hikeep MAD feels much more like an electric dirt bike / dual-sport-style machine than a traditional e-bike. It’s especially interesting for riders who want a quiet way to explore trails, property, forestry roads, hunting or fishing areas, and other off-road terrain.
