We made this ride video so you can get to know the Shandoka retrofit motorcycle and what it’s like to ride electric through the countryside. This motorcycle from Shandoka is a high-power build, and has a 15kW hub motor in the rear wheel with a 26kW peak power – about the same as a 40hp engine. The electric motorcycle is powered by a custom lithium-ion battery with only 3.3kW of usable energy on board. Even so, we regularly push 27 miles of steady rural riding at 50mph. Top continuous speed is 85mph and we have recorded 88mph on a favorable tail wind.
