While visiting Whistler British Columbia Canada recently, I took a few bike rides around the trails and discovered Lost Lake. While there, I used a GoPro Max to record HD 4k 360 degree video that can be viewed in VR and virtual reality headsets. The ambient audio and sounds are natural and peaceful. You’ll hear birds, wind, trees, the water at the beach, the docks, and people walking past.

This video was originally shot in 5376 × 2688 resolution. It has been sharpened and downsampled to near 4k for easier HD viewing online with virtual reality headsets or the YouTube 360-degree browser. While it does not have binaural or ambisonic sound, it was recorded in stereo plus 360 for an atmospheric effect. It’s meant to be peaceful and relaxing, as someone who enjoys soft ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) sorts of sounds in the background, these nature sounds are enjoyable all on their own.
